Requirements and Nature of Work

Nature of Work: The UnborderED knowledge project aims to widen, deepen and institutionalize equitable access to education and research opportunities for students and academics with lived experiences of forced migration in Canada. The research assistant will be responsible for:

  • Secondary data collection
  • Data management and analysis
  • Translation (from English to French) and French language review
  • Participation in meetings and events

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in French as language of instruction
  • Bilingualism (French-English)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French; a proficiency test designed by the uOttawa Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute may be required for short-listed candidates.
  • Excellent knowledge of migration context in Canada
  • This position is only open to FSS students who have an RA funding commitment as part of their admissions offer.
