One job title hides very different licence requirements. The first thing to check in a driving posting is not the pay, it is the class being asked for.

The licence class comes first

An Ontario Class G is enough for light vehicle delivery. A heavy truck needs a higher class, and a tractor-trailer combination another one again. An air brake endorsement is required separately on top.

Transit is its own case: transit agencies generally train their operators and require a specific class obtained during training rather than before hiring.

Quebec licence, Ontario employer

A licence issued in Quebec is valid in Ontario for ordinary driving, but an employer hiring you as a professional driver may require a licence from the province where you live, along with a current driver's abstract.

Raise this in the first conversation if you live in the Outaouais. It is the most common reason an application falls apart after the interview.

Winter is not a detail

The region gets heavy accumulation and long stretches of icy roads. Delivery employers value documented winter experience, and a clean driving record weighs more here than years behind the wheel.

Check who supplies the vehicle and who pays for fuel and maintenance. On a personal-vehicle delivery role, that is what determines the actual income.
